Langhorne Wesley Wister〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Langhorne Wister )〕 (September 20, 1834 – March 19, 1891) was an American Union brevet brigadier general from Pennsylvania during the period of the American Civil War. Wister was born in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America on September 20, 1834. He later lived in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. Langhorne Wister served as a captain in the 13th Pennsylvania Reserves, fighting at the Battle of Gaines Mill, here he was wounded. In this role he also fought with distinction at the Battle of Fredericksburg.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Langhorne Wister )〕 Later Wister recruited and served as a colonel of the 150th Pennsylvania.() He fought at the Battle of Chancellorsville in I Corps of the Army of the Potomac. Wister assumed command of a brigade on the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg after Col Roy Stone was wounded. Wister too was wounded and had to give up command. He, however, reported on the battle for the brigade.() Col Wister returned to Duncannon. He received his appointment as brevet brigadier general dated to March 13, 1865.
